In fitness there is no such thing as "the average person". We are all unique. Therefore the "average training routine" will not bring the results you desire. Not everybody is a sport guru knowing precisely what to do. Most people don’t have the time and energy required after a busy day to develop a training concept and execute it effectively on their own. They rush from work to the gym, repeating the same routine over and over. Something is better than nothing but this is not an effective way to exercise.
